Vision
To create a world where women in recovery from addiction are empowered, respected, and provided with the resources necessary to rebuild their lives, reunify with their families, and thrive in their communities.
Mission
The Phoenix Project for Frannie is dedicated to transforming the lives of women recovering from addiction by providing comprehensive support services, including women-focused group counseling, case management, and connections to essential community resources. We strive to eliminate the shame and stigma surrounding addiction, ensuring that women can seek treatment with dignity and respect. Our ultimate goal is to break the cycle of relapse by offering safe housing, evidence-based curricula, and a supportive sober living environment, facilitating their journey to self-sufficiency and family reunification.
Our Story
The Phoenix Project for Frannie was established in 2017 and became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on May 25th, 2023. It was founded by Melissa Voetsch, Pam Wittman, and Frannie Krompak, each motivated by their personal experiences with addiction and a shared commitment to addressing the specific unmet needs of women in recovery.
The founders were driven by a desire to change the narrative for women recovering from addiction, to remove the shame and stigma associated with the disease, and to make it easier for women to seek treatment and reunify with their families with respect and dignity.
Starting as a grassroots organization with volunteer support, The Phoenix Project for Frannie quickly gained momentum, addressing a significant gap in services designed to help women rebuild their lives from addiction.
The organization focuses on providing women-focused group counseling, with the founders serving as Ohio State Certified Peer Supporters. Weekly group sessions are conducted at NW Ohio treatment centers, including the Ohio Treatment Center and Team Recovery Treatment Center, serving women from across Ohio and beyond.

WHERE we're going
A critical discovery in their work was the lack of support for women after leaving treatment centers. The challenges of setting up a new life, including housing, financial stability, and
employment, often lead women back into the cycle of addiction and treatment. The Phoenix Project for Frannie aims to break this cycle by providing subsidized safe housing and an evidence-based curriculum within a supportive sober living environment.
Partnerships and Collaboration
The organization seeks to develop partnerships and collaborate with existing services to bridge gaps in support for women in recovery. The ultimate goal is to reunite women with their children and ensure a safe and healthy return to family-centric living, serving women from across the State of Ohio.
Financial Transparency and Growth
To achieve its mission, The Phoenix Project for Frannie recognizes the need for a transparent financial structure. The transition to a 501(c)(3) status in 2023 is a crucial step towards securing the financial resources necessary to support and expand its programs and services.
